Cash App imposes a limit on how much you can send and receive via the app. The default cap should be satisfactory enough for the average user, but if you want higher limits, you have to undergo verification.

Learn how to increase your Cash App daily sending and receiving limits in this guide.

Here’s How Much the Cash App Daily Sending Limit Is:

A basic Cash App account has a $250 sending limit per week, and a $1,000 receiving limit per month. Once you go through the verification process, this will be upgraded to a $7,500 weekly sending limit and an unlimited receiving limit.

When you first sign up for an account on Cash App, you can send up to $250 within seven days. This is the maximum amount for an unverified account and applies for both single and weekly transactions.

This limit may be inconvenient for you, particularly if you wish to transfer large amounts of money.

You can increase your transaction limit through verification.

If your account undergoes the verification process, where you provide your personal information, including your full legal name, birth date, and the last four digits of your social security number (SSN).

Verified accounts in Cash App can increase their weekly sending limit to $7,500 and monthly sending limit to $17,500.

Meanwhile, Cash App’s default receiving limit is $1,000 per month. After verifying your account, the cap can increase to an unlimited amount.

How to Increase Your Cash App Sending Limit:

You have to go through Cash App’s verification process to increase your transaction limits, including spending and receiving.

Typically, the platform will ask for your full name, date of birth, and last four numbers of your SSN, but if your account cannot be verified using these, you may be asked to provide additional information.

To verify your account, you should do the following steps:

1.     Open the Cash App on your phone, then log in to your account.

2.     Click on Profile located at the top right side corner of your screen,

3.     Select the Personal tab. You will be asked to enter your personal details.

4.     After keying in the data needed, save the changes and wait for Cash App’s approval.

5.     You will get a confirmation email once the verification process is successful.

You may also initiate account verification by opening the Cash App, and then trying to send a payment of more than $250.

This will prompt the Cash App to automatically ask you to verify your account. Just follow the steps indicated and provide all necessary information to complete the process.

When Does the Cash App Weekly Sending Limit Reset?

Your Cash App weekly sending limit reset should happen exactly a week after meeting your sending limit.

The Cash App clock is precise to the hour and minute. It starts ticking the exact time a payout is sent or accepted.

For instance, if you sent money on a Monday, your weekly limit will reset the next Monday.

Time is also a factor. If you paid someone at 2 p.m. on a Monday, your sending limit reset will happen next week at 2 p.m. on a Monday.

To see your weekly Cash App limit, you simply open your account and tap Deposits and Transfers > Cash Limits > Add Cash.

Can You Open a Second Cash App Account to Bypass the Sending Limit?

Yes. Some users with unverified Cash App accounts open a second account to send larger amounts of money through the platform.

While Cash App's policy expressly indicates that a user should only have one active account, this does not usually happen.

You can actually open multiple Cash App accounts by using different email addresses, phone numbers, and bank accounts.

This way, you will not violate the platform’s terms of service. To learn how to open a second Cash App account, check our in-depth article on this topic.

Most users separate their transactions by arranging the first account for personal and the second for business, or vice versa.

When you have multiple accounts, you do not need to undergo verification to increase your sending or receiving limits.

Even with the $250 weekly cap, you can still send larger amounts by using the funds in your several Cash App accounts.

Having multiple accounts in Cash App has its advantages, but you should ensure that you stay within the platform's TOS to avoid problems.

How Do You Know When You Hit the Cash App Weekly Sending Limit?

You will know immediately if you are already past Cash App’s sending limit because they will send you a notification.

When you try to transfer more than $250 in a week, Cash App will inform you right away that you have already exceeded the weekly sending limit.

The app will also automatically prompt you to verify your account by entering the information needed, such as your full name and birthdate, among others.

Once you apply for verification and are approved, you will be able to send up to $7,500 per week.

Can You See How Much Money You Have Sent This Week?

Yes. To check how much money you have sent per week on Cash App, simply tap on the Activity tab on your home screen, then select Transactions.

Your Cash App transaction history is arranged by month and contains all the details of the transactions you ever made.

By clicking on this tab, you will see the amounts you transferred to other accounts and all other pertinent details associated with such transactions.

The same applies to all the funds you received within the week.

If you want to see your monthly activities, you will have to wait for five business days after the month ends.

Your account statement should be ready for viewing by this time.

To view your monthly statements, you should click on Profile on your Cash App home screen, then select Documents.

Afterwards, tap on Account Statements. You will see your transactions on that particular month.

If you want more data about a specific transaction, you may click on the customer’s name and see your transaction details.

You may also access your old account statements via the Cash App website. Just select the Statements button located in the top-right corner, then the monthly statement you want to view.
